Annatto seed powder makes a wonderful colorant for soap. It creates a deep rich  tangerine color in soap.  It is typically infused in an oil of choice and placed in a glass jar and shaken frequently during the course of several weeks.  The oil is then strained and used in the soap making process.  It can be accelerated by applying low and slow heating making a quick infusion in just a few hours.
