Coconut oil is known for producing excellent lather in soap making. It will even lather in salt water. It is an excellent conditioner and creates a barrier on the skin locking in moisture. It is solid under 76 degrees. It is also an anti microbial and has proteins to help with skin disorders and promote regeneration of new healthy cells. Coconut oil has a comedogenic rating of 4 so it is not optimal for use in facial products as it can clog pores.
