Red 28 is used frequently to obtain those amazing colors in bath bombs and bubble products due to the fact that it will color the water but not skin or the tub unless used in large quantity. It can also be used in soap making but the color will eventually fade and it may bleed. This dye is 98% pure, which means using tiny increments is wise. A 2 pound batch of bath bomb mix is easily colored with less than 1/8 teaspoon of this dye. This red mixed with blue 1 creates a variety of stunning shades of purple. On its own it is hot pink.
It is recommended that you mix the dye with your water/alcohol/ or other wet ingredients as this is water soluble not oil soluble. Mix the water/dye solution with baking soda and then add the citric acid for vibrant bombs that will turn the water a beautiful color . For a surprise, mix it dry and when it hits the water it will color the water. These also perform amazing in embeds.
This dye is safe for external cosmetic usage, including use in the area of lips at no more than 3% of finished product.
This dye is certified and will come to you with the proper certification to comply with FDA guidelines for its use in products intended for sale. http://www.fda.gov/ForIndustry/ColorAdditives/ColorAdditiveInventories/ucm106626.htm
