Description
Gardens of Shalimar is our version of the popular fragrance Shalimar by Guerlian. It was the first Oriental fragrance ever created and it was inspired by the love story of an Emporor, Shah Jahan and an Indian princess, Mumtaz Mahal. It is named after the Gardens of Shalimar near Lahore Pakistan, whom some say is where they met and others that he created for her. Its meaning is “Temple of Love”. They married and had 13 children, she died giving birth to the 14th. The Emporor was so devistated by her death he had the Taj Mahal built as a memorial for her.
Shalimar is one of the most popular, timeless, best selling fragrances in history and symbolizes eternal love. Its meaning, strong and beautiful, both of which this fantastic fragrance is. It is alluring, seductive, and almost mystical. Oriental notes of Frankincense Tonka bean, coumarin, myrrh and vanilla blend effortlessly with floral notes of Jasmine and top notes of bergamot and lemon to complete this fragrance that is as beautiful as the story behind it.

I have discovered that I am incapable of receiving a sample in my order without going back to buy MORE! This scent is EXQUISITE! Literally, the same day I received this as a sample, I turned around and bought a bigger bottle! In NO WAY am I concerned with the fact this FO discolors… The scent is so INCREDIBLE, it won’t concern anyone else either- promise! When I first received it, it had been out in my hot mailbox, so I didn’t initially discover how truly wonderful this scent was until it “settled” and acclimated back to room temp. When I came back to smell it an hour later, I was truly blown away!!! This scent really IS a love story!! It’s astoundingly beautiful, complex (as all love is!), enveloping, and magical! There is a sweet, earthy, pure quality to this aroma that does the most delectable dance with warm, soothing notes! It is so rich in character, I find this aroma hard to put into words, but to me, there is this AMAZING depth, and notes that remind me of rich, cozy cashmere! A soothing subtlety of organic sweetness lends alluring opulence to this blend that I find magnificently addictive! I can’t put the bottle down!! If there were ever only one fragrance I could soap with for the rest of my life, this would probably be it! I’ve been so smitten by this FO (and smelling it every 5mins!) that I haven’t had a chance to actually soap with it yet! Will return to leave results in CP, but I have found that in all my FO purchases from American Soap Supplies, the CP notes Lori provides have ALWAYS been precise, so I have no doubts it will preform exactly as noted! Lori, you knocked it out of the park with this scent!! It is truly phenomenal!!

Holy guacamole Batman!!! This … THIS is now a staple to my collection…. This is so unique and so amazing I cannot so smelling it!! I’m doing an exclusive limited time bath bomb line in October, and this smells like the gold one I plan on making, it smell like royalty!
